I’ve been playing a lot of James Taylor tunes lately and thought I’d lay down a cover of “Fire and Rain.” For those trying to learn this great acoustic guitar song, I’ve included a few close-up shots of the fret board to catch some of the chord fingerings I’m using — hope this helps. I’m playing my trusty Taylor 810, strung with John Pearse 80/20 lights. Most of the guitar’s recorded sound is captured via a direct line from the instrument (Fishman pick-up system) mixed with what’s bleeding in from the AT 4050 mic I’m using for the vocal. I also laid down a track of percussion using a cajon — for some reason I felt like playing this song at a slow pace, and thought the percussion would help the groove. Thanks as always for tuning in and listening.
